How is this possible. The tickets, electronic boards and even the announcement thing above the door in the train have English that provide Shinkansen name and all stops.

Back in 2019 I got on the wrong train with my JR pass. I basically got onto the train that was not covered. What some people don't understand is the high speed rail trains are operated by different companies, but the trains LOOK the exact same on the outside. Design and colors!! Yes there are train # displayed, but when there are 2 identical trains on the same platform, it is very easy to mix up. But their service was really nice to me and gave me instructions on how to get to my correct train at the next stop.
