@naeemrecites: Why do we sometimes add a kasrah in Qur’an recitation? 🤔 This Tajweed rule is called التقاء الساكنين (Iltiqāʾ as-Sākinayn) the meeting of two sākin letters. In Arabic, it’s generally difficult to pronounce two letters with sukūn back-to-back. To make the recitation flow naturally, the first sākin is often given a vowel. In many Qur’anic examples, that vowel is a kasrah. Learning these details helps us recite the Qur’an exactly as it was taught by the Prophet ﷺ.
