I also think that it’s important that Gwi-Ma DOES call it a Mark. When he’s talking to Jinu about Rumi he says “a Hunter bears my mark” and that’s why he loses. He doesnt control them.

I knew this movie was deep. Especially since it was made for kids. ❤️So ya can’t rlly call it a kids movie. 😅 also if you noticed in the film after Rumi is rejected by her friends and jinu she goes to the next person she thought would accept her patterns. Celine… but after finding out that she couldn’t and didn’t love her. Did she raise her sword to her mother figure and ask her to do what she should’ve done long ago. But she refused. And wanted to hide her patterns again. Rumi refuses and soon comes to a realization. The old honmoon cannot be sealed because it is based off shame and self loathing like you said. Which is why she says, “if this is the honmoon I’m supposed to protect. I’m glad to see it destroyed.” She’s glad to be rid of the old honmoon which didn’t let her show her true self. And made a new one that could accept all the faults and fears of its demon hunters. And I think that’s beautiful. Especially since the new honmoon represents it with a rainbow color. To show truthfulness and freedom. 🥹
