Can we normalize non pharmaceutical remedies FIRST. Location of ship #1. Pills patches are RARELY used as directed because most of them need to be utilized days prior to event, all coming with side effects that mimic the thing you are trying to avoid in the first place. Green apples. Pressure point bands. Hydration. Movement. Awareness of alcohol consumption. Learn to address and manage symptoms as they occur if they even occur at all. Talk to cruisers. Gather all the information. Then try it. I went on my FIRST cruise and I had the best time and had ZERO illness and issues because I listened to creators like THIS GUY HERE. I sanitized my own cabin from the second I stepped foot in cabin. Washed hands and sanitized constantly. Stayed on deck 7 mid ship. I still had a blast and felt so relaxed. We had some rough days and I wasn’t expecting what “movement” felt like. I still can’t describe it properly. However it really wasn’t bad at all. If you are the type of person that needs to be numb or wasted to have fun, and uses no precaution or sense, you are gonna be sick or miserable on land or sea.

Do you get motion sickness fairly bad? I’m going on my first cruise in a couple weeks and really don’t want to take Dramamine every day. But am scared to only try sea bands!

I didn't get any motion sickness at all during our 7 day carribean cruise but it took me 5 days to stop walking "drunk" when we got home. I was worried enough I went to the hospital. It did go away but nobody warned me of such a thing.

I was in Deck 8 fwd cabin on Wonder of the Seas and felt nothing. Maybe the bigger the better when it comes to feeling movement.

Eat apples and toast. Drinking a lot of liquids in your stomach sloshing around makes you nauseous. Apples hydrate and contain pectin to settle stomach toast absorbs water.

I agree … location and deck level are important. Last cruise Deck 2 mid ship was awesome. Plus, I could use the stairs to get to the dining room on Deck 3. No waits for elevators. High decks I had more motion sickness. Definitely low decks for me from now on.
