None. Nobody forces me to smell a perfume. Also I rarely ever smell other people’s perfume out in public. I can’t say I’ve ever smelled someone wearing baccarat rouge 540.

I think this is a selfish mentality like just because more people can access things because they are more affordable doesn't mean the original is ruined. Everyone deserves to have the experience of smelling good.

All of you in the comments naming perfumes that were always simple and easy to formulate… like these brands will sell you unoriginal cheap slop for luxury price points but make sure that theyre the first ones bringing said smells to your nose, making you believe you are buying something special and unique. Whole time baccarat rouge is nothing but ethyl maltol and ambroxan with a touch of safranal. Easy to copy, easy to dupe. Easy to get tired of for it will never offer depth or layers that you can discover forever, unlike classics like shalimar that smells different every day and is impossible to dupe for cheap prices. And a lot of modern niche houses are like this, painting this picture of quirkiness and uniqueness while offering something as basic as a fig vetiver perfume. Theres 0 passion behind a lot of perfumes. Its mostly about price and popularity nowadays and its sad

BR540 still smells amazing to me. The majority of the US is not wearing it. Someone said it was simple, simple smells so good and expensive to me.

I think there is a big difference between ruining a fragrance and making it not exclusive for only a few mortals. A good perfume will always be good.

I don’t get fragrances (or anything for that matter) being ruined because they became more common/used. I actually don’t get the psychology behind it at all
