I use glowstone with moss carpets over them, adds light in fields and some texture (grey carpets on stone)

It got too annoying for me. I just change biome to deep dark so mobs don’t spawn and I can properly build with different lights without having that one block at light level 0

Cool build, however I still say build with torches as needed. Honestly the second the build community says not to do something I take it as a challenge.
