RLandH :
The thing is, if you break down all the various lineages involved (for instance: Betha is half Blackwood and half... what?), Daenerys is 50% Blackwood, 25% Dayne, and 12.5% Martell (though, of course, one has to factor in that these houses share ancestry with other, unknown houses).
This makes Daenerys part First Man, part Andal, part Rhoynar, and likely a descendant of the Empire of the Dawn (given that the Daynes and Martells are partly Andal and partly of other origins). The remaining 12.5% is almost entirely Valyrian (including the Rogares- who are Lysene - the Velaryons, and the Targaryens), with a tiny fraction of Arryn blood. She is far less Targaryen than one might think; yes, even with two Targaryen parents and two Targaryen grandparents who were siblings. Obviously, genetics doesn't work quite like that in real life, and certainly not in Martin's world, but in simple terms, Daenerys has less Targaryen (and Valyrian) blood than Rhaenyra's three Strong sons, for comparison.
