@road_trip_architect: I spent a lot of time thinking about which entrance we should use and how difficult it might be to get in and out of the park each day.. Truth is, there really isn't a bad choice. Unless of course you visit during the peak season and you’re rolling through the West entrance at 9:00am. That would be the exception. But, are you looking for easy access to the geysers? Hoping to pair Yellowstone with Grand Teton? Trying to prioritize wildlife? The answer really isn’t too difficult…it’s just a bit different for each family. Tomorrow, I'm sharing my two favorite entrances… including the one I think is the most underrated. #familyroadtrip #roadtripwithkids #yellowstonenationalpark #nationalparks #travelwithkids

Red Lodge to Cooke City via Beartooth Pass is the most beautiful way to go.

Such an amazing view to explain which entrance is better & it gives people an insight of how huge that park is. I was there a week & still didn't experience everything!💙

Love your post! Just starting to plan but what about taking Amtrak train. Did you look at that option when planning?

We stayed in Gardiner and came in through the north entrance. This picture was in 2015. Why would you not want to see the Roosevelt Arch😉

Is it possible to stay at one entrance and do the whole park from there or is that to much driving/waste of time

What do you think of entering at the south entrance and then going towards the west? I’m staying a bit south of the park

We went in by Gardiner last summer with our 32ft 5th wheel. My husband insisted on driving through the arch.

Just returned home. Stayed in Jackson and loved our South entrance. We were there by 6:30 am. We hiked to see bears and moose in Grand Teton. Snowed ia6/29 in Yellowstone! ❤️

I've done every entrance. My entrances of choice are the east and NE, which both make sense from where we live. The south one is kind of meh after the beauty of the Tetons and the west one is busy. No strong opinions on the north, we just usually hit Cody or the Beartooth Pass before the park
