I earned my Cisco CyberOps certification two weeks ago, and now I'm preparing for Security+. Apperantly recruiters love Security+, but honestly, I found CyberOps much more practical and valuable. That might be because I started with very little cybersecurity knowledge, so everything was new to me. Also, CyberOps is much more focused on SOC operations and prepares you directly for SOC analyst roles, while Security+ covers a much broader range of cybersecurity topics. I think if I had earned Security+ before CyberOps, I wouldn't have known what to do next. Security+ provides a solid foundation, but because it's so broad, it doesn't prepare you for one specific role or specialization.
