This is the kind of bilingualism I’m working toward with my kids. Not because I expect them to mix languages every time they speak. This reel is simply an experiment to show what it feels like when a bilingual brain stops translating and simply understands. But children don’t become this comfortable in Spanish by visiting it. They become this comfortable by living in it. In an English-speaking country, that means creating a life where Spanish isn’t just spoken at home. It’s spoken in the car, at the grocery store, at the park, with friends, through books, jokes, traditions, and everyday moments. Ironically, the more rooted they become in Spanish, the more naturally English finds its place too.
