lol no, renting and investing most of your income into something like the smp500 is better than buying a house for the vast majority of people, especially for younger people who can take better advantage of compound interest, home ownership generally only makes sense if you are planning to settle down and stay in one area for at least 7-10 years, also for people with a lower net worth having a large amount of your wealth be tied into an illiquid and singular asset like a house is way more risky than having a diversified portfolio of stocks and bonds.

Renting vs owning always boils down to individual cases. You could own and put $50k in repairs / remodeling every year vs you rent a smaller space and have everything taken care of
