Just to play devils advocate: back in the good old days kids were running around town alone, walking to school, etc. I was left home alone starting at 9. Nothing really bad happened until I was 15. I don’t know how uber works to well. Can they choose a female driver now?

I don’t like my adult daughter getting in Ubers! But around here they are mostly men. She tried driving for a short bit, but found it creepy. She doesn’t live in the very best neighborhood - our capital city does not have a great reputation in general.
