@moneycoachdave: How many are you above? You might be doing financially better than the average American if you’re above any of these benchmarks. Social media makes it look like everyone is rich, owns a home, and casually vacations in Europe. Real life usually looks very different. These 5 benchmarks are a simple reality check to see whether you may be doing better financially than you think. How many of the 5 are you above? #PersonalFinance #FinancialLiteracy #Wealth #MoneyTalk #learnontiktokcontest

No credit card debt ✅ more than 1 month emergency fund ✅ both cars paid off ✅ Roth IRA, not much but it’s started ✅ blessed to put a ✅ for the last one

Nah the Roth IRA is a waste. Unless you are maxing out your 401k. The compounding interest you are losing up until retirement on the from paying taxes is much higher then the taxes you will pay after you retire on a traditional 401k

I'm barely over the average, so I'd consider myself below average. I make 65k, $2k in credit card debt (optional, I could pay it off today but I'd prefer to make 5% and pay 0% interest for 2 years), no car note, I have enough for about a month and a half in expenses in my checking and about 1.5 years on my savings. not so good on roth/retirement, yet. 🥲

I hit all but the car payments. Unfortunately 4 drivers in our home all needed new(er) cars around the same time.
