I always find that my boys need to take time to take in a scene, like even just opening the door to leave the house they pause and take in the world before moving to the truck. So when it comes to their birthday parties I always set up the space and bring them to it before people start showing up, so they get to walk the space and see all the decorations and take in the theme they wanted while it’s all fresh, then they get to watch people trickle in instead of everyone already being there. You’re such a good Mama keeping his feelings first and really reading him!

This is how we always did my little guys birthday. In his case we did find out he’s on the spectrum and doesn’t like birthdays parties. This year we’re having a ‘president theme’ birthday lunch because that’s what he’s into this year. I love how you also plan your kiddos parties for them individually. I try my best to do the same ❤️
