IMO you didn't have feelings for him. You just saw him as a safe person who helped you through the grief of losing your bf and once he told you he was ready to be in a relationship, you convinced yourself that you had feelings for him because you felt like you were about to lose your safe person to someone else. I think you didn't want to be with him because you saw him as more than a friend, You wanted to be with him just to keep your safe person to yourself and make sure nobody could steal him from you. And he KNOWS it. That's why he told you he wanted to get into a relationship, just to make you want him for YOURSELF.

I think it makes perfect sense. It doesn’t matter the amount of time it had taken. Everyday living with the turmoil and grief you were experiencing felt like a lifetime and he was there for you. I think it makes sense you falling for him and I wouldn’t blame yourself for it.

oh no going back through this series and I feel like he for sure knew what he was doing with the I'm going to college and getting a girl and the I slept with this girl at work. Seems like that was for sure manipulation to either get you to feel like you needed to do something now or even to just hurt you.
