I’m naturally a really reserved person but when I mask I try to come off really bubbly and social. It helps me make friends and get along with my coworkers, but it makes me feel so manipulative and fake 😭😭 im conflicted cause I need to be social to build community, but it’s hard to keep up all the time cause I’d rather not talk at all

i agree with all of this, i get that heavy feeling that we didn’t click 😭 or that yeah it feels like im gonna say the wrong thing before i even say it and sometimes i say old things ive said in other convos w other people , whole convo im arguing w myself in my head abt what to say 😭 and to be natural

They can like smell the neurodivergence on you and I feel like it subconsciously unsettles them 😭 like do we give uncanny valley to neurotypical people??? Do their animal brains recognize that we appear to be human but just slightly off so they register us as something to be othered and cautious of??

I always feel like they see me as a dancing monkey or something, like a novelty. I entertain them but at the end of the day they don't understand or respect me and there's been so many times where I say something that seems so normal but then they look at me like I have three heads or just said something super insane.
