@tanandmemtravels: Thinking of hiking Acatenango and Fuego??? 🤩 We just did it with CA Travelers (highly recommend) and I’m here to show you that it really isn’t as hard as so many people online seem to say! 🌋👏🏻 Sure there’s some incline and the surface is unsteady at times, but if you’ve got a basic level of fitness and have even the smallest hiking experience, this hike is definitely achievable! After hearing so many people say that the Fuego hike is insanely hard and not worth the time you could be sitting at base camp watching the eruptions, we decided to try it out for ourselves! And I can now say I totally disagree with them! Yes the views at base camp were amazing, but the feeling I got standing on that erupting volcano is something I will cherish and remember forever 🥹 Yes it’s steep and yes it might seem like a long day, but it’s really only an extra few hours of walking to experience something that only a handful of people in the world will get to do in their lifetime 👏🏻👏🏻 So my hot take, hike Fuego!! 🌋 In saying this, this is obviously very weather dependant! We were extremely lucky with good weather conditions and clear skies at night during our Fuego hike. So I definitely think that if you have poor visibility, you’re better off staying at base camp. Trust your guides, they will tell you your options!! Did you opt to hike Fuego?
