I learned recently that he abused Tyler.(beyond just being implied) i forget what it said exactly but after his dad hits him it says "it clearly isn't the first time this has occurred" meaning his dad hits him occasionally. Tyler honestly has it worse than the whole show 😭

I love Donovan’s character to a certain point but I hate people acting like he wasn’t absolutely horrible father. No one can make be think Tyler feelings towards his dad aren’t justified.

Tyler is completely 100% justified in his anger and disdain frankly I think he deserved to cuss Donovan out. He believes his father hates him and (some of us) as viewers we know that’s not true but Tyler was either unconscious or unaware of the moments where Donovan acted as his father (do those moments make up for the years of neglect, probably not but ultimately that’s Tyler’s decision on how he wants to remember his father). I just wonder what Tyler is going to feel when he finds out about Donovan investigation on LOIS and how Wednesday was only there bc of him…

Kinda upset they left Tyler on a horrible note with his father, he’s a bad father yes but Tyler deserves to close the book with his father himself and not have him stripped from his hands.

people forget this whole family is broken. Donovan loved his son and loved his family. AND YES I can both acknowledge the fact that the neglect did mess tyler up but at the same time tyler still cared about his dad even a tiny bit in s1. s2. he was most likely angry at him for shooting him to save enid. but donovan always put job first because losing fran. I never say hes a bad guy. just failed as a father because of the multiple things happening in their life. i will love my galpin family. and can acknowledge his faults as a father towards tyler but also acknowledge he wasnt heartless and didnt HATE HIS SON. he literally LOVED his wife and son so much. thats why it broke him. at the end. he did try to change. people ignore that. even if it was too late. he still tried. and thats more then most bad dads
