Because He is our Shepherd, we can rest in the assurance that He knows exactly what we need and will provide according to His perfect will. The psalm closes with another beautiful promise: “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.” This means that every day, God’s goodness and unfailing love pursue us, not only in seasons of abundance but also in times of uncertainty.
