The entire point here is 5th and 6th gear are the weak points and at such a low rpm with bigger tires it’s not spinning the pump fast enough to keep line pressure up

I have a 14 2500 with 212000 miles stock 68 fluid changed every 20-25k miles and 35s with the 3.42s I won’t go up to 37s until I get a built trans lol

Gotta change that CCV filter more often. Always see leaks there when waiting til the service interval. Cut the interval in half and you'll have way fewer leaks.

Locked converter shifts on a 68 will make a 48 swap and manual swap look like mush

Aside from bypass I’m at 320k on my 68, granted it is getting tired and I’m 3.73 on 35s. They aren’t terrible it’s just like you said have a little practical thinking.

300k on this 68, input flexplate and triple disc tc on a h&s ran on hot tune since day on. Its been driven with common sense and it alway ran flawless

My last truck was on 37’s and 3.42’s. MY current 68 truck with 3.42 I wanna run 325/60r20’s but is even that to much tire? With trans tuning.

Should be swapping gears on any vehicle that you put drastically bigger tires on. That’s just common sense.

Some 68s are miracles, my truck has 132k with 10mm cp3 g42 73/75 and tons of beating but I am on 325/50r20
