@life.jasonzhang: Raw and unfiltered look at how the last 3 months has been since Google On the job search side, going forward I will be focusing less on leetcode and more on system design, and next steos will be to start doing mock interviews with friends. On the content side, I’ve committed to only posting 2 videos a week (down from 4-5 posts a week) but if you are a creator too, then you know how much admin work comes with content outside of just making videos. I’ve also been overthinking a lot still and spent 2 hours the other day looking at fonts so yea, I’m horrible as timeboxing. I know I haven’t shared much on the job search side because the prep does take a long time, especially since I haven’t been hearing back from the companies I have applied to so far, it’s showing me that getting interviews even with Google on my resume is rare and I should aim to prepare as much as I can. After all, you only need 1 interview to land a job. I also want to preface that I’m fully aware I’m in a privileged position, to have savings I can live off of while I find a job and do content on the side. If you don’t have a 3-6 month emergency fund yet, I highly recommend saving for it slowly, because it’s helped a lot with my stress / anxiety. I’ll be sharing more numbers soon, # of jobs I applied to, rejections, interviews, if what I studied even helped, and more in the upcoming month as I go through it myself so stay tuned.
