I cut a pocket beam wrong once 4x12. It was at the end of the day. Needed it set before morning. I went and bought a new one for $55 at the lumber yard that evening. Got to work early and was installing it. Boss pulled up said what are you doing? Just finished the beam you asked me to put in yesterday I said. He never knew lol

when I first started I watched my boss make the wrong mark but didn't speak up and let him cut it thinking maybe I was wrong, sure enough it was the wrong measurement and I stood there like a penguin and smiled and waved.

Ha. This is the first time in my life seeing a tape with only inches on it. In the UK they usually have metric and imperial as standard, which is a nightmare because we only use metric. The spacings are so big, how do you get accurate measurements?
