My parents brought me when I was a year old and I remember crying when I was told I was Mexican. For years, I was shamed and discriminated against, but now I’ve come to appreciate both cultures: the one I was born in and the one I grew up in.

i was taken at the age of 3 and felt much pride for the US. until i had a child and saw how unfair our kids are still treated. I was daca and felt cornered so I left back to Mexico. at the end of the day, no matter how patriótic we are, we are still not legal. We have to be realistic and have to see that we really are not from the US because we lack legal status. That is what is most important to us.

yes. When people learn I am undocumented and from Mexico they're shocked. I am more American than most people around me. I am not a criminal and don't want to leech off of the government. I just want to be able to work to afford life. Immigrants are not the problem. We pay taxes and contribute positively to this country.
