Actually I believe that the horror in this story is mainly used to show the horrors of beeing queer, just like Obssession is about the horrors that women face in the world and Get out is about racism or even Leviticus that is an horror story in a small town about two boys who are in love whit eache other and a creature starts taking the form of one of the boys (that ain't spoilers, it is in the sinopse and trailers) the horror is mainly an artistic way of telling a story, and that actually has a name in pop culture, it’s called social horror, storys where the main horror of the story comes from the critiquis that it makes on our society, of course that the horror is a very important part of the story and it has its on mytology but I don't think we can or should realy separate it from the queerness of it all, if it wasnt for the queer parts, it would be just another horror anime like a milion that exist out there, the queer horror is what makes it so special and touching for so many people

At first I was in it for romance (i love romance sm), then I saw all the horror aspects and like how much deeper the characters are and just loved it so much. It made me tear up a couple times and honestly I got a lesson and thinking experience out of it
