From what I have heard, some devotees perform this ritual while praying to pass the Bar Exam. Every Good Friday, the practice of knee-walking is also observed at Quiapo Church as an act of penance for sins. When I witnessed this tradition of knee-walking at Quiapo Church, I was amazed. I wondered, "Don't the devotees' knees hurt while doing this?"
