@tiredsenmum: She was so excited to start high school, yes a little nervous but who isn’t. Unfortunately the mask couldn’t withstand the increased pressure and expectations. In those first few months we lost our bubbly little girl. We lost her smile, her laugh, her love. She couldn’t cope. Nothing was manageable- daily choices were too much. Reduced timetables had little to no impact- absences were still increasing. On the 14th May I made the decision to let her stay home- to reset completely. This was the best thing we have ever done for her. Slowly her smile returned, her cheeky and bubbly personality started to appear. She was coming back. Yes she still has struggles and challenges and she has developed techniques and mechanisms to manage those. Mainstream education is not for every child. I will continue to fight for you princess- mums got you! #sen #mask #struggle #advocate
to you and everyone else too, i went through the same thing. i stopped going a few months into secondary school and never went back. i went through a really dark time but i managed to get myself out and now im starting my second year of college! i have friends and im in a good relationship. i did my gcses in college and get my results in august! it’s not the end of the world if you don’t go to school i promise🫶🏻

i changed to 3 different schools and did homeschooling, from all that i was very depressed for years, for my gcses i went in for the hour and back home and now im 19 and do content creation and probably make more money than the teachers 😂 , the point is it’ll all work out in the end.

Mainstream isn’t for everyone! The best thing my mother did for me and my health was take me out of school. People need to understand that school wasn’t made for everyone!

I feel like his is going to be my girl. She transitions to secondary in September and I’m already dreading it because I know everything’s just going to be too much for her and then we will have a battle on our hands of how to get her there. I have just watched all your videos and I feel my daughter is similar to your daughter so I’m going to follow you in the hope I can get some valuable information from your posts xx💓

I experienced roughly the same thing! I was in and out of secondary for 4 years (on reduced but it didn’t work). I eventually got moved to an alternative school in y10 and did my mocks and GCSES. Just wished they helped me before it got worse. It does get better though 💕

I’ve just finished year 11 however I barely got through it. Just used to be by myself all day not going to anything completely quiet until time to go every single day and I am the most bubbly and funny girl. I couldn’t go out with friends, be with my family, speak to anyone because I was to exhausted and burnt out from the school day yet every single day since I left I haven’t had that and I’ve never felt more alive ❤️

Even reading this makes me emotional! And the respect I have for you making the decision to take her out is one I’ll agree with, in every single day of my life! I have watched my niece go through the same heartbreaking experience, and we have taken her out too! Because we wasnt prepared to sit back and watch her mental health be deteriorated by “strangers” this is what I call teachers! I know a lot of it is to do with lack of money put in to educate and support for teachers too! But for me a young child is learning through life and us adults are here to help, and teach them! So making them feel isolated and like their voice shouldn’t be heard, And Everything they do they are scrutinised for, Is exactly what’s wrong with society today!
