True Demonslayer. Guts is the heart and soul of Berserk. He is a warrior forged by suffering, loss, and relentless determination, whose journey is defined not by destiny, but by his refusal to surrender to it. More than a swordsman, Guts represents humanity’s struggle against overwhelming darkness. Born beneath the corpse of his hanged mother and raised on the battlefield, Guts knew violence before he knew kindness. His childhood was filled with abuse, betrayal, and hardship, forcing him to survive through sheer strength and willpower. Every scar on his body tells the story of another battle fought against a world that seemed determined to break him. Despite his brutal upbringing, Guts possesses a deeply human heart. Beneath his cold exterior lies a man capable of profound loyalty, compassion, and love. His time with the Band of the Hawk gives him the closest thing he has ever known to a family, and his bond with Casca becomes one of the few sources of hope in his life. The events of the Eclipse shatter everything he holds dear. Branded as a sacrifice after Griffith transforms into Femto, Guts loses his comrades, his left arm, and his right eye. Yet even after enduring unimaginable tragedy, he refuses to submit to despair. Instead, he rises again, wielding the colossal Dragonslayer sword against enemies that no ordinary human could hope to defeat. What makes Guts extraordinary is not that he is the strongest warrior, but that he continues to fight when every reason to give up has been placed before him. Time and again, he stands against apostles, demons, and even beings that seem beyond human comprehension. His greatest weapon is not his sword, but his indomitable will. As the story progresses, Guts learns that strength alone cannot heal his wounds. Through companions like Schierke, Farnese, Serpico, and Isidro, he slowly opens himself to trust and companionship once more. Their support reminds him that survival is not enough—living also means protecting others and allowing himself to be protected. #berserk#gutsberserk#guts#berserkedit#edit - @sinistersyrian
