people don't really realize how much of a food desert Alaska is. this is subsistence fishing, so people can eat fish from the freezer/dried/canned fish throughout the year. they aren't reselling or hoarding, they're literally caching for the winter. grocery stores are expensive in AK. orange juice in my home town is $19 per gallon.

I would check that very often because I would be afraid of the fish sitting too long. I’m sure you know what you’re doing but check their gills for color 🫶🏻 I wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t say anything even though I’m sure you know what you’re doing

Y’all need to watch some Alaskan television shows. If they are citizens of Alaska and even more so- native to the Inuit and Native American culture- they can hunt and gather basically anything, including whale bones and such.
