Growing up with extremely strict parents completely altered the way I live my life as a teen, I never got to grow up around normal children or have normal childhood experiences, under the excuse of protecting me from the world, my parents have made it so hard to build any genuine relationships with other people my age while completely destroying my self confidence. After everything they’ve done I still can’t bring myself to hate them though, I hope in the future I’ll become more confident and be able to live normally without feeling like I don’t belong.

developing chronic pain at 5 and being in pain up to 8h a day for the next ~10 years really stunted me emotionally and socially. I just wanted to be normal and pain-free so bad. I'm getting better but I feel like I missed out on a lot of things that makes me seem weird to others
