DZOLU - The Heart of Buem in Oti Region 🇬🇭 Dzolu is a beautiful farming community in the Jasikan Municipality of the Oti Region. It is located near Old Ayoma and Baglo, at an elevation of 328m. It is one of the key towns in the Buem Traditional Area. The town is known for its deep-rooted culture and strong farming tradition. Culture & Tradition: In Buem, Dzolu is known for its sacred connection to River Dayi (also called Edze) which separates two farmlands. In the community, Thursday is called "Adolimei" and Friday is "Liyei" — these are observed as holy days. No farming, digging, or washing with soap in the river is allowed on those days. It is believed that observing this brings good harvest and protects the river. Leadership & Development: The Chief of Dzolu is Nana Tebulebu Omandzi II, Gyasehene of Dzolu-Buem. The community is currently seeing development — a new three-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities worth GH₵700,000 funded by the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) is under construction to reduce overcrowding and improve education. Dzolu is proof that Oti Region is truly a microcosm of Ghana — rich in culture, hardworking people, and great potential. Have you ever been to Dzolu? Share your experience in the comments! #Ot#OtiRegiona#Jasikanu#Buemz#Dzoluh#Ghana
