@girlvsglobe: Indigenous food 🩷 The restaurant is Tea’N’Bannock in Toronto, Canada - they're currently looking for a new location and hoping to reopen soon! What is Indigenous (or First Nations) food? There is no one unified Indigenous cuisine - that would be like trying to talk about "European food", for example. I touch briefly on the topic of federal recognition. Its absence cuts hundreds of Indigenous communities off from potentially life-saving government support - this was a big discussion in the US in particular, during the pandemic. I encourage you to do more research on this topic as it reveals many layers of forced legal marginalisation amongst Indigenous and First Nations people. I've been doing a lot of research into Indigenous rights and would love to create more content on the topic. Please let me know all your questions 🩷 #indigenous #indigenousrights #indigenouslivesmatter #firstnations

I have, I've had Navajo stew and fry bread and Navajo tacos and three sisters succotash. I've been to multiple powwows too. I'm not even cheating by having part Native kids because they're Comanche. I've just had very close friends in the Navajo tribe. I love native recipes

Thank you for this. Whenever a certain continent says anything, I view a lot of it as anti-Indigenous (and funny enough, that continent is the core reason the indigenous peoples have lost so much!). I always try to buy produce from local folks (in MN) etc, good for food, economy, and the community!
