What is Indigenous (or First Nations) food? There is no one unified Indigenous cuisine - that would be like trying to talk about "European food", for example. I touch briefly on the topic of federal recognition. Its absence cuts hundreds of Indigenous communities off from potentially life-saving government support - this was a big discussion in the US in particular, during the pandemic. I encourage you to do more research on this topic as it reveals many layers of forced legal marginalisation amongst Indigenous and First Nations people.
