I did not notice the exact moment you became my favorite thought , the one my mind kept circling back to in the quiet gaps between everything else i am supposed to be doing. maybe it happened in the way you laughed when no one was trying to be funny, an unguided sound that made the whole room feel a little less serious . maybe it happened in the way your presence made my loudest worries go quiet. all I know is that one day I looked for peace in all the places I usually search and found it instead sitting beside me wearing your smile.
