this show and plot line still devastate me to this day even after 2 years. song choice doesn’t help either. i truly thought mizu was going to try to rescue her for a moment. and the reason Kaji asked Mizu to do that was because she believed if she rescued her it would bring down violence on her brothel , so a mercy kill seemed like the only way to end kinuyo’s suffering while protecting the brothel. What’s worse is that that random little boy snitched so the brothel was endangered anyway so Mizu could’ve rescued Kinuyo as regardless the outcome was the same ☹️
