BMW N47 Engine Rebuild Complete | First Startup After Timing Chain Repair. • This is the final fifth part of the major repair on the BMW N47D20A diesel engine, where a complete timing chain replacement and upper engine rebuild were performed, including replacement of worn camshafts and damaged timing components discovered during inspection. • During previous repair stages, full engine diagnosis confirmed timing chain stretch, camshaft wear, and the need for major engine disassembly followed by installation of all new timing system components. • In this final stage, we begin by performing a complete final timing verification to make sure all engine timing marks are perfectly aligned before closing the engine. • The crankshaft locking pin and camshaft locking tools are installed again to confirm that the timing chain system has been assembled exactly according to factory specifications. • Once final timing verification is complete, we begin full engine reassembly.
