France does this as well. At least you will not get sick pay unless you have a note from day 1. My friend was shocked when he moved there. It seems so unnecessary to see a doctor when you have a fever or stomach issues to actually take up a doctor’s time. I need more insight to this.

Honestly I think it'll go like the "Tankrabatt". From the moment they announced it, everybody was against it, because we knew for sure it wouldn't work. It didn't work and didn't have an positive effect, just like predicted, so they quietly dropped it again. That's what's going to happen. It will cause chaos, they'll paddle back in some parts, Merz already started to, and in the end they'll try to quietly bury it again or they'll try to sell us rolling back their shitty ideas as a cool new innovation they came up with next year.

they bet on people working while sick because a they can't wait at the doctors, or b people won't be able to get apts so they will have to come in any way. I think for established illnesses like migraine am sure you would be able to call in and get a nite since it's a known issue.

You are very smart😳. Very good points. Germany is making a big mistake. Trying to fix years of stupid decision making and lack of investment in the right things, with more bureaucracy. Reminds me of the solution the British empire had for the snake problem in then occupied India.
