@cnbc: Amazon devices chief Panos Panay says the next phase of AI may not be defined by a single new gadget — or by apps as we know them today. Speaking with CNBC’s Arjun Kharpal on “The Tech Download,” Panay said users should be “super skeptical” of anyone claiming to know the future form factor for AI devices. Instead, he said the bigger shift is from “screens and apps” to “conversation and context,” where AI assistants understand where users are, what they are doing and what they may need next. Panay said that does not mean the smartphone or app is going away. But he argued that some productivity tasks may be better handled by AI systems that can anticipate what comes next, rather than by opening another app on a phone.
