he failed to mention that that was a very old installation and that was probably the 1st maintenance after a long time of services . installers should encourage maintenance once a yr instead of carry out "upgrations"

what year was this solar installation done,if it was more than 3 years, please don't blame the installer, because 3 year back most installer join wires without using mc4

when was MC4 introduced??? I believed this is a 2-3yrs job. im not siding bad jobs oo but we should all know better. show us ur work of two yrs ago where u use MC4.

if you don't have mc4 connector, you may join cable(you may use required cable jointer) firmly, but before joining, you cut a coverable length of 20/25mm square pvc with the joining part, then insert the pvc after proper insulation and fill the pipe with silicon gum.

omo and na wetin I do when I install my solar myself be this I cut the mc4 connector but I cover each of the wires with tape properly and been using it for 3 months now without issue

the only problem I'm seeing here is that the engineer didn't insulate the cable properly it not a matter of using mc4 or not he was managing is insulation which is wrong

Baba no know what to say… I’m not supporting bad job but if the Engineer used a better tape and taped multiple times this won’t happen. MC4 was recently introduced, and this job looks like a 2-5 years job.
