Hi all!! I’m sorry for the late update, but Cutie Bug Adira and I had quite a night last night! We were at the vet hospital til the early hours of the morning and then had to haul home, but Adira did amazing and was her happy self once we got home! After a thorough exam our vet found a small puncture wound all the way up in the crevice of Adira’s inner thigh. This could of been a hematoma from a kick or even if she hurt herself laying down/getting up and eventually turned into an abscess. Hopefully this is what all the edema build up is, as fluid will settle to lowest point of the body, which is Adira’s round belly. Our vet flushed the wound on her inner thigh out and began a regime of strong antibiotics for the next week. Right now I am giving her IV antibiotics every day and we go back Thursday morning for a recheck and another dose of an additional antibiotic. We don’t want Adira stationary for too long, so she doesn’t get more fluid build up from not moving around and knock on wood she was happy to be out eating with her friends today. In addition to her meds, I am flushing the wound out as well. Keep your fingers crossed that everything continues to drain. The ultrasound did not show any tears/hernia and her intestines are where they should be. The HHHH crew is keeping a close eye on our Cutie bug and I am super grateful she is such a good patient. . . Thank you all so much for your kindness, love, well wishes and support. Yesterday was a long day but I truly appreciate every minute I get to be here, doing this work on the good days and the hard days. Thank you to our incredible vet team for always going above and beyond :) . . We have a small $2 Tuesday going. Please don’t feel obligated! And thank you all again for your constant love and support. One thing I have truly learned is to focus on the people who believe in you vs the people who don’t.
