it's easy get get good sound headphones and stop using your TV speakers. I have Razer black shark with the THX software and every car sounds amazing. I owned a car from the game the 79 z28.it sounds just like it

Instead, go to sound settings and change the mix to car focused. Then the game puts all the car sounds front in the mix and music and ambient stuff further back

If your on windows, you can use the volume settings to add extra decibels and bass boost the audio. Was pretty good for FH5 in general, same with FH6 now.
