@legitalgorithmswithpeter: 🤯 I knew modern operating systems used more RAM… but I didn’t realize Tiny Core Linux can run on just 64 MB. Meanwhile, it’s becoming normal to see PCs with 16–32 GB of RAM just for everyday use. It really makes you appreciate how much software has changed over the years. More features, more background services, more convenience… but also a lot more bloat. Whether you’re a Windows user or a Linux fan, it’s a fascinating reminder that efficient software still exists. Sometimes the biggest performance upgrade isn’t new hardware—it’s lighter software. #Linux #TinyCoreLinux #Windows #TechFacts #ComputerScience 🚀

Why? Why do you keep saying only Linux and nothing else? There are many distributions. Name one that can replace Win 10 in everything.

Windows 7 32-bit and Windows 10 32-bit absolutely neg every Linux distro (even the least intensive ones): they run faster, consume basically the same resources and have way better compatibility. Having to use Wine or Proton on Linux proves it is still mostly a joke.

I was a hardcore Windows user. Started it with 3.1 and used it until the end of 10. My pc is from 2013 so to run Windows 11 it would need a new motherboard, CPU and ram (because I'm currently on DDR3) but due to the current high prices of pc hardware I skipped building a new one. Instead I installed Linux Mint which is for beginners and I was amazed how good is it. I can do everything I did on Windows, without bloat ware and forced updates. And Mint is idling with 1.07 GB of ram so despite not liking the idea to switching to Linux, now I'm not going back to Windows
