Also remember that you don’t have to do it this way sometimes the easiest form of praying to the gods is giving yourself a little sweet treat. If you work with Aphrodite that’s quite literally is the best way if you work with Aries do some like punching like if you’re working out or something with Apollo write music dedicated to him.

I’m new to the religion and i find some difficulties in praying every day, especially as an ex forced-catholic, so I can’t do everything every time :’) but I always wash my hands, speak respectfully and call some epithets, I also always start and end thanking lady Estia and when talking to other gods I also thank them for things I have of their domain. I just wash hands and talk without offerings, an altar or candles, is this a problem? I don’t think I’ll be able to add things just yet, I already find it hard praying everyday and sometimes I skip my prayers :’)

technically some of these are inaccurate, for food offerings you remove them once they start rotting, the length of which it took them to rot shows you whether they accepted the offering or not, removing it before it starts to rot is arguably more disrespectful. as for washing your hands, it is not fully required anymore as the religion has grown and changed throughout the years. You don't have to leave an offering every time you pray to the gods, nor do you have to light a candle or lamp, or raise your hand to the god you're praying to. You also left out how you're supposed to acknowledge Hestia first as she is home and hearth and in some ways the bridge between the gods land and our land.

wait is it disrespectful to leave food offers out for multiple days? I leave apples out and they never rot and sometimes like candy that wont rot either. Would I still need to throw it away after a few hours?
