I feel like a lot of people do whole cheat days, I’ll do 1 cheat meal, not go overboard on that meal, and do it 1-3x a month. A lot of people also struggle to get back on track after they cheat. If you can’t eat a cheat meal and can’t immediately get back on track then you need to work on your relationship with food.

“One meal won’t hurt” but I’m still logging the calories in that meal and adjusting the rest of my week accordingly

I feel like that one weekend or that one day literally stalls your progress because it puts you either on Maintenance or in a calorie surplus and then you’re the same weight forever and you wonder why and it’s like oh look back on Friday night where you had pizza and seven beers that totally outdid your deficit you created earlier in the week

It’s because it’s never one meal. It’s just one meal today and one tomorrow and one the next day. If it was really one meal every once in a while then no literally one won’t hurt, but like I said it’s never just one

I increase my deficit during the week by like 500 a day then when I have my “cheats” on the weekend my calories end up just being my maintenance intake. So I’m still -2500 on the week. Been consistently losing .7 a week. I prioritize protein still during my cheats and make sure to stay active that day. It really just depends on how quickly you want to reach your goals. I feel doing it this way it’s been steady enough that it doesn’t make me feel super deprived.
