If you reached high rank during that era, you should know that war axe mogs. All it gives is spell vamp and nothing else, not even a slightly stronger physical damage, which means you're cannon fodder in the early clash frontline.

even though spell vamp/lifesteal rates were very high, the reduction percentage on anti-heal items was also much higher. They used to reduce healing by 60%, whereas now they reduce it by 40%. Back then, it meant an easy win against an opponent who didn't buy anti-heal, but now there isn't as much of a need to buy it (that’s what you call balancing). Moreover, the only really good anti-heal item was Dominance ice and the others designed for AP and AD were so weak that nobody even used them.
