@alphaclubclinic: 25,000 votes shouldn’t decide who runs the country. 🇬🇧 If a Prime Minister steps down or gets forced out midway through a Parliament, the public should get another say. I don’t care which party is in power or who the replacement is. Whether it’s Andy Burnham or anyone else, it shouldn’t be possible for someone to become Prime Minister purely because they won an internal party leadership contest with a relatively small number of votes. That’s not what millions of people voted for at the last General Election. If the person at the top changes, the country should go back to the ballot box. It’s a basic democratic principle. Let the public decide who leads the nation—not a party membership or a handful of MPs. Our parliamentary system needs reform. Changing the leader of the government without asking the electorate again feels like a slap in the face to democracy. What’s your view?
