I’m German American. A true hybrid, bilingual, spent half my life there and in the US. I say “I love you” allllll the time (still) to my German relatives. It makes them feel hella awkward but I don’t care, because I DO love them!

not really, German say "ich liebe dich " and "ich habe dich lieb " to make a different btween the love btween the you and ur partner and you and anyone else that you don't have emotional love thats including ur family
