Participant Recruitment Post Are you interested in sharing your experiences and helping shape the future of Sport Higher Education in the UK? Hi I’m Moses Gomes-Santos (Mo The Lecturer) and I’m a Sports Higher Education Lecturer, and a Part-Time PhD student who is currently conducting a PhD study exploring the journeys, experiences, and challenges of men in Sport Higher Education leadership with a particular focus on the representation and progression of Black men. The representation of black men in the teaching profession in the United Kingdom stands at 2%. If we look at the area of specialisations, black men constitute 0.8% of professors in the United Kingdom. Black men are underrepresented in Sports Higher Education Leadership roles and there has been a call for change in this phenomenon. Rich and in-depth data collection for this study is key and I’m now looking at recruiting participants to contribute to this change Who I’m looking for: I am recruiting participants from two groups: 1. Black male university students or graduates (18+) -Interested in working in Sport Higher Education leadership (Are they encouraged to take up leadership roles. Aspiring to work as a black man in Sports Higher Education Leadership Roles) AND 2. Black men working in Sport Higher Education leadership roles - Former or current roles will be accepted (Those that made it through and have first-hand experience of being a black man in Sports Higher Education Leadership role) What’s involved: Taking part in a 1-to-1 interview with Moses Gomes-Santos Discussing your experiences, aspirations, and perspectives Contributing to the change of the hierarchy in Sports Higher Education and its ethnic diversity amongst the leadership roles Time commitment: 60mins - 90mins (Breaks in-between) Conducted online or in-person (depending on your preference) Ethics & Confidentiality: Participation is completely voluntary You can withdraw at any time All data will be anonymised and handled confidentially Please do share with your network, I can provide more information upon request, so please get in touch with us if you have any questions.
