Меня всегда удивляло, насколько часто люди склонны оценивать глубину мысли не по её содержанию, а по количеству символов, которые были использованы для её выражения. Ведь если задуматься, сам факт того, что определённая мысль изложена в большом количестве предложений, ещё совершенно не означает, что эта мысль обладает какой-либо реальной ценностью, новизной или интеллектуальной значимостью. Более того, иногда происходит даже обратная ситуация, когда за огромным количеством слов скрывается предельно простая идея, которую можно было бы выразить буквально одной короткой фразой. И в этом, если посмотреть шире, заключается весьма интересный феномен, который можно наблюдать практически во всех сферах человеческой деятельности, начиная от обычного общения и заканчивая различными дискуссиями на темы, которые сами по себе предполагают высокий уровень аналитического мышления. Очень часто люди воспринимают длинный текст как нечто более серьёзное просто потому, что он длинный. При этом далеко не всегда возникает вопрос о том, что именно этот текст сообщает и сообщает ли он вообще что-нибудь конкретное. Если продолжить рассуждение в данном направлении, можно прийти к выводу, что значительная часть впечатления от информации формируется не за счёт её фактического содержания, а за счёт формы подачи. И это действительно заслуживает отдельного внимания, потому что форма зачастую начинает восприниматься как содержание. Когда человек видит большое количество абзацев, сложные конструкции, многочисленные уточнения, вводные слова, разнообразные обороты речи и постоянные отсылки к абстрактным концепциям, у него может сложиться впечатление, что перед ним находится нечто исключительно глубокое и продуманное. Однако если попытаться внимательно проанализировать сказанное, постепенно становится очевидно, что значительная часть текста лишь повторяет уже озвученные ранее идеи, но в немного изменённой форме. Затем эти идеи ещё раз уточняются, потом дополнительно раскрываются, после чего рассматриваются под другим углом, а затем снова формулируются таким образом, чтобы создать ощущение дальнейшего развития мысли. Хотя фактически никакого развития не происходит. объем ничего не значит
