Here's my breakdown: Flight from east coast of USA: $1000 (obviously your airfare will vary) Rental car: $130 Hotel: $400 Track-prepped hot hatch for 2 laps: 322€ / $366 Instructor: $120 You've just driven the Nurburgring on a long weekend for approximately $2,000, give or take a few tanks of gas plus your +/- in airfare. I know some of your have airline points that are awfully dusty. I'm aware that's not a small chunk of change, but we're talking about one of the most incredible automotive bucket list experiences you can have in this lifetime. You can tell everyone at the local meet, "yeah I've driven the 'ring". You can do it. This experience is available to you. You just have to shift your mindset. And yes, you'll need ~$2,000. And a passport. And a driving license. And some tolerance for risk. Remember: DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. Understand how deductibles work, consider some extra insurance if you're uncomfortable with that, and also be aware that if you did have a very bad day out there, there are also costs associated with track repair and downtime.
