@ndncollective: As we look at America’s 250th, we know the 4th of YOU lie (July) celebrates a document (the declaration of independence) that called us “merciless savages.” We know that the USA is fundamentally Stolen Lands Built by Stolen Hands. Today, the @blis_collective reimagined an American Classic and rewrote ‘This Land Is Our Land’ to center Black and Indigenous people in the American story because, “This land was built by you and me.” 🌎 Filmed across New Mexico, Massachusetts, and the DC/Virginia area—on lands that Indigenous, Black, and Afro-Indigenous communities have long stewarded. This classic short serves as a remembering. An exploration. I am not native but I was thinking of you all on the fourth. I wore my hair in twin braids and wore my earrings and bracelet that was made by a native in the Eastern band of Cherokee Indians. I always liked to go to Cherokee reservation. I really like to go to the Qualla Arts and crafts building. It’s right next to the museum of the Cherokee people. Please correct me if I got anything wrong. I looked everything up (mainly the names) because my memory is terrible.

This year we did call it 4th of July in my house we celebrated “family legacy day” since my family a black family can trace back 200+yr in this country that we were brought to & still not wanted! 🖤🤎 sending love to all the Native Tribes who this land belonged to!

God bless America and all of its people. Let us honor the people who where here before any one came from other lands because they cared for everything in this country and respected it. Let’s get back to the native peoples ways who are kind and giving and blessed and a blessing and let the truth reign not the lies about the African American people who are from Kings and Queens and we too are a great people. Let’s the wise people of all races and nations and backgrounds come together to make this young nation great again and remove the racism and hate that has been planted here since this nation was built.
