I get dexter kills bad people but people suffer for his addiction, he doesn't care about others or how his double life affects them, just look at how he was going to kill an innocent concious life just protect himself and how logan died bc he wouldn't 'cooporate' it's not self defence when its his fault he's in that position. Same with Joe, he sais he loves those women and would 'walk throw flames' for them yet he always kills them to protect his secret. Dexter may have the upper hand in morality, combat and witts but he's still not justified, thats the point of the books and the show, how you dont know what anyone, even a stepfather who works in the department of justice does behind closed doors.

Joe probably wouldn't hate Dexter. If anything, he'd see himself in Dexter because Dexter is everything Joe believes he is—a killer who protects innocent people instead of hurting them. In Joe's mind, all of his murders are justified, so he'd probably admire Dexter's code and see it as proof that they're not so different.
